JULY 4 INVICTUS PG 13 (2 hr. 13 min) Starring Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon. Morgan Freeman portrays anti-apartheid activist and former South African president Nelson Mandela. Set just after the fall of apartheid and during Mandela’s first term in office, it explores how the political prisoner-turned-president used the 1995 Rugby World Cup as a means of bringing blacks and whites together after decades of violence and mistrust.

JULY 11 THE EVENING STAR PG (2 hr. 9 min) Starring Shirley MacLaine, Jack Nicholson and Bill Paxton. A sequel to Terms of Endearment, Shirley MacLaine reprises her role as Aurora Greenway. Fifteen years after the death of her daughter, Emma, Aurora is still keeping an eye on her three grandchildren and not having very good luck with it. Also, Aurora has a number of adversarial relationships to contend with.

Bus Departs 8 a.m.

Thecasino will pick you up and transport you in their bus to the Mazatzal Casinojust outside of Payson.  When you sign up we’ll need your date ofbirth or Players Club card number, and indicate either Maz Cash or Bingo money.Each resident will get $10 in either Maz Cash or Bingo money. If you choose MazCash you do not need to go to the Players Club Booth. If you choose Bingo moneyyou will need to stop by the Players Club Booth to pick it up. You’ll head for home at 3p.m. and arrive back in Leisure World about 5:30 p.m.  This is aspecial trip for residents only. Each resident may sign up for nomore than two seats for their own manor. Limit is two tickets per manor.  No-shows may be restricted from future trips.

Every Saturday at 9:00 a.m., the computer users of LW gather to share knowledge and solve those frustrating problems our computers sometimes give us.  All LW residents and (guests) are welcome at these sessions.

We meet in the R1 theater for one hour, year-round.* If time allows we have a short presentation.

Ginny Rockenhauser has made this gathering possible, it is well attended.  She also post her findings and notes in the Insider's Forum which archives all the workshops.

A moderator is designated for the day to pass the microphone around to the audience.  Identify yourself by name and manor number, let's get to know one another.

The motto of this group is:"there is no dumb question". So ask!

LWCC Sat. Workshop

 

Every Saturday at 9:00 a.m., the computer users of LW gather to share knowledge and solve those frustrating problems our computers sometimes give us.  All LW residents and (guests) are welcome at these sessions.

We meet in the R1 theater for one hour, year-round.* If time allows we have a short presentation.

Ginny Rockenhauser has made this gathering possible, it is well attended.  She also post her findings and notes in the Insider's Forum which archives all the workshops.

A moderator is designated for the day to pass the microphone around to the audience.  Identify yourself by name and manor number, let's get to know one another.

The motto of this group is:"there is no dumb question". So ask!

 

* Note: There will be no meeting during the Community Garage Sale, no meeting if Saturday falls on a holiday or long weekend, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Christmas or New Year, the Arts and Crafts Fairs or Senior Expo.
