We just had dinner at the Bavarian Point restaurant.  The German food was excellent. 
It is located at Main and 48th St.  Just East of the Superstition Ranch Market.

Interesting information in the latest Quackwatch newsletter.  Kaiser Permanente is dropping medical coverage for cervical neck manipulation because of the risk of stroke or tearing of the vertebral artery.

WRITERS CLUB BOARD MEETING
MINUTES, 3 September, 2010
President Joanna Prodoehl called the meeting to order at 10.00 a.m.  Welma Williams, Bob Bennett, and Harlene Marley were present.  Joanna gave incoming president Bob an official list of meeting places for the coming year.  We discussed procedures for the officer changeover at the October meeting.  Joanna will confirm that Jeanne King will serve as secretary for the October and November meetings.  Welma will continue to call members to remind them of meetings. 
 
The club will meet in the King Card Room on 17 September; at the roundtable/workshop, members are invited to share work in progress or to write a 300-500 word essay on “How I Spent My Summer Vacation.”  Leisure World resident Anna Miller, who records hospital patients’ life memories at Banner Baywood, will speak at the 15 October meeting.  Local writer Nancy Rossman will speak at the 19 November meeting.  At the 17 December meeting, Bob Bennett will show a Teaching Company DVD and lead the following discussion.
 
The meeting adjourned at 10.20.

Bob and I are the LW hip replacement test couple.  I had my surgery in late May
using the standard method of the incision on the side of the hip.  Has taken 3
months to almost get back in shape, still have work to do.

Bob had his done the anterior way using the "hana" table on Aug. 11. He was in
the hospital 1 day, and has no restrictions, already hitting golf balls, can put
his shoes on, etc.  I was not aware of the new method till after my surgery. 


The big difference is:  Old method, the muscle's are cut before the hip is
replaced.  New method using the "hana" table, the muscle's are moved aside,
after hip is in place muscle's are put back in place.
  
Please do not call me, I'm not a doctor, I don't have answers to your
questions.  Call your doctor and do internet research.  Here are two sites

I want to recommend Jerry's Auto Service if your vehicle needs any kind of
service.  I first heard about the place on the Saturday morning radio show
where they talked about auto service companies that went out of their way to
provide quality service, follow-up, and fair prices.  My auto needed some
attention so I took it in to them and I am really impressed.  In my opinion,
they went way above and beyond to satisfy to me and the price was very fair.
 
I have never been so satisfied with the service I received as I am with this
place.
